This intensive short course consists of five days of aerial inspired performative act creation. Work on designing a show piece using the aerial skills you possess under the professional supervision of our experienced performance art instructors. Refine your aerial repertoire and structure a performance piece. The course culminates with a professional presentation, giving you a showreel to really elevate your career.
This week-long course aims to give you the tools to string your favourite moves into something bigger and create a professionally recorded performance piece.
We're not just talking about how to build a sequence here, we're talking about all the little pieces that turn an aerial sequence into a performance. These include: stage presence, character creation and storytelling. These are the elements that will pull it all together and make circus more than a few good tricks and a pointed toe. You'll need to be ready to work hard, laugh (a lot), try new things and maybe even spend some time on the floor, (but definitely not all of it, we promise!)
Course Prerequisites: Confidence in at least one form of aerial apparatus. (6 months suggested minimum). Good vocabulary on that piece of equipment (this course is not about teaching you new moves, it's about how to present what you already know).
The course costs £400 and runs from Flying Fantastic Peckham: 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday.
The course will culminate in a professionally filmed presentation of your act. (additional £50 fee)
