Rope

Corde Lisse is French for ‘Smooth Rope’. A single 35mm-wide soft cotton rope suspends from a single point on the ceiling to provide an endless combination of beats, pirouettes, drops, wraps and figures for an expressive range of movement.

Whilst presenting its own unique set of challenges, this discipline is closely related to both Aerial Silks and Spanish Web, requiring good upper body strength, skill and dedication to master.

Core benefits

If you’ve had a climbing rope in your gym, you’d certainly know the amount of upper body, core and grip strength that have to work together in order to get all the way off the floor. However with the Corde Lisse, not only are you moving up in a vertical plane, but also across and all over to execute moves. Functional strength is the key focus here, as your forearms, biceps, triceps, shoulders and lats are put to the test at varying degrees of intensity.

Classes available at: Union Street and Peckham. Check the booking page for class times and locations.
