Jumping to get your jetés to new heights? Look no further. This one week intensive aerial course will be running from 9th - 13th April 2018 and is suitable for dancers or anyone with a keen sense of movement, providing an introduction to a range of aerial disciplines through lyrical combinations and transitions. Infusing your own style is essential - working with musicality through movement on the apparatus. There is an opportunity to develop a routine for presentation on the final day. Perfect for those with little or no aerial experience looking to take their rhythm airborne.
This one week course will provide an introduction to the wonderful world of aerial. Work through translating classics dance vocabulary like pirouettes, passes, and pas de chats without gravity stopping you. Pulling from the fundamentals of dance technique and awareness to translate into the air, this course will focus on the Silks and Hoop as core apparatus to take you through movement on a variety of aerial disciplines to develop sequences and routines. Combing dance choreography with aerial skills, there will also be tasters in Slings and Spanish Web to expand your creativity. Taught by aerial experts with a dance pedigree, you will explore musicality and transitions on and off the aerial equipment building towards a lyrical routine to be performed at the end of the week.
Course consists of 20 hours of aerial tuition across the week. Classes start at 11am and run until 4pm daily - with a lunchbreak factored into the timetable. There is a performance and the opportunity to film your routine on Friday afternoon (friends and family can be invited).
