We know how much you love those moments in the air, feeling the thrill and freedom of movement, but there are a few steps you need to follow to take your practice to the next level and get that coveted self-practice approval. Let’s dive into how you can get your airtime and soar safely in our studio!

First things first: how long should you train before venturing into self-practice? We recommend a solid six months of regular training. This time not only helps you build strength and flexibility but also ensures that you’re nailing the basics at height. It’s essential to feel comfortable executing moves without constant instruction, so make sure you’ve got those foundational skills down before you attempt self-training.

Once you feel ready, the next step is to showcase your skills. We ask that you email us videos demonstrating your competence in the air. This helps us ensure that you’re ready for self-practice and can safely manage your training. Think of it as a mini scratch night—you get to show off what you’ve learned and we get to see how you handle the apparatus!

After your video submission, it’s time to schedule your induction. This session is crucial, as we’ll go over important safety protocols and teach you the essential Figure 8 knot. Trust us, this knot is your best friend when it comes to aerial safety. You can find a handy video guide here: Figure 8 Knot Tutorial. During the induction, we’ll cover everything you need to know to make your self-practice sessions safe and effective.

Once you’ve completed your induction, you’ll be all set to sign up for self-practice! You can find available practice times here: Practice Time Scheduler. Remember, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so make sure to plan your sessions in advance. With your newfound independence, you’ll be able to enjoy your time in the air even more!
So there you have it! Follow these steps, and you’ll be well on your way to flying solo in our studio. We can’t wait to see you in the air, honing your skills and exploring new heights.

Happy flying!
